When the homeowner purchased this beautiful craftsman home, they knew they wanted to turn the backyard into a resort-style outdoor retreat and needed help with the overall vision. 

The lakefront home was built to take full advantage of the stunning views but had limited use of the backyard because of the steep slope.  The property owner’s desire was to feel like they were on vacation in their backyard, and to be obscured from view.  

BauerCombs began by exploring the perfect patio location for low disturbance to the site and maximum use of the existing slope.  The selected location nestled the new entertainment area inconspicuously from view.  Our landscape architect explains “The hidden patio location is revealed after you have traveled halfway down the pathway.  At that point, you catch a glimpse of the party space ahead.”

The homeowners love their new space and find it to be the weekend party hub.  Together, BauerCombs’ landscape architect, Susan Combs Bauer, and Nature Perfect Landscaping created a hidden patio retreat that will be enjoyed by the homeowners for years to come.
