Susan Combs Bauer, President
Landscape Architect, PLA
A Puget Sound native, Susan enjoys everything about nature and the outdoors. At an early age, Susan enjoyed hiking with her family in the mountains, making trails in the woods behind her house, and spending weekends at Point Defiance State Park. Fast forward to today, and nothing much has changed!
Helping people connect with nature for over 30 years through professional landscape design, Susan Combs Bauer is an award-winning landscape architect with professional licenses in Washington State and California. Rather than a conventional approach to landscape design, Susan is a leading expert in sensory landscape design. Her artistic creations balance sensory elements with visual aesthetics to help people feel engaged, delighted and rejuvenated.
Susan’s landscape architect projects have gained recognition throughout the United States and can be found in several magazines such as Mother Earth Living, Su Casa, and Landscape Architect Specifier News. She is the award winner of the "2013 Best Large Residential Landscape Design in San Francisco Bay Area" and "FHWA Award of Merit for 1-90 Bellevue to Seattle Pedestrian/Bicycle Trail". In addition to being a professional landscape architect (PLA), Susan is an accredited rainwater collection systems professional (AP), certified permaculture design consultant, and professional violinist.
