Every business has a story to tell, here's ours...
In the beginning, an accomplished landscape designer and a respected building contractor engineer strike up a conversation while waiting in line for a latte in Issaquah…and the story begins!
1991 BauerCombs & Associates, Inc. is founded by Susan Combs Bauer and Jack Bauer, providing landscape design, commercial landscaping, recreation planning and project management services.
1993 Susan Combs Bauer passes the 3-day licensing exam (L.A.R.E.) and obtains her professional landscape architect license (PLA), hooray!
1993 - 2001 Gaining activity, the landscape design firm enjoys providing landscape architecture, park planning, commercial landscaping and project management services for homeowners, estates, businesses, non-profit organizations, and city municipalities in the Puget Sound area.
2001 - 2005 BauerCombs spreads their wings and is awarded out-of-state projects for landscape architecture design and project management for world-class residential estates and private lodges.
2005 BauerCombs is awarded their first healthcare landscape design project for an outdoor courtyard. This specialized courtyard is for an assisted living facility for memory challenged patients and their families. Our landscape architect, Susan Combs Bauer, discovers the joy of sensory design and creates her signature artistic style of balancing sight and color, scent, touch, taste, and sound for uplifting outdoor environments.
2005 - 2017 BauerCombs & Associates, Inc. Landscape Architecture gains project momentum and popularity by winning a prestigious design award; gets featured in several well-known magazines; is interviewed on a local radio talk show; and teaches informative garden design workshops and seminars. Landscaping projects range from residential landscapes to high-end estates, commercial landscaping design, guest ranches, senior living campus, healing gardens, sporting clay course, residential subdivisions, commercial development, parks and open space, and more.
