Susan Combs Bauer, Principal Landscape Architect
A Puget Sound native, Susan enjoys everything about nature and the outdoors. At an early age, Susan enjoyed hiking with her family in the mountains, making trails in the woods behind her house, and spending weekends at Point Defiance State Park. Fast forward to today, and nothing much has changed!
Helping people connect with nature for over 25 years through professional landscape design, Susan Combs Bauer is an award-winning landscape architect with professional licenses in Washington State and California. Rather than a conventional approach to landscape design, Susan is a leading expert in sensory landscape design. Her artistic creations balance sensory elements with visual aesthetics to help people feel engaged, delighted and rejuvenated.
Susan’s landscape architect projects have gained recognition throughout the United States and can be found in several magazines such as Mother Earth Living, Su Casa, and Landscape Architect Specifier News. She is the award winner of the "2013 Best Large Residential Landscape Design in San Francisco Bay Area" and "FHWA Award of Merit for 1-90 Bellevue to Seattle Pedestrian/Bicycle Trail".
In addition to being a professional landscape architect (PLA), Susan is also an accredited rainwater collection systems professional (AP), certified permaculture design consultant, and professional violinist!
Jack Bauer, Principal Project Manager & Owner's Representative
Born & raised in Chicago, IL, Jack Bauer’s love for the Northwest began at an early age when visiting his uncles, aunts, and cousins in the Seattle area. After earning university degrees in engineering and business, Jack packed his bags and moved to North Bend, Washington. A couple of decades later, Jack considers the Northwest his home and the best place in the world to live!
With over 25 years of managing large-scale projects, Jack has led the planning, development, and construction of beautiful estates, luxury properties, neighborhood subdivisions, mixed commercial developments, and individual home sites across the United States.
Jack has a comprehensive understanding of local permitting rules and regulations applicable to land development including the engineering, legal, and entitlement process as owner’s representative for real estate acquisitions.
One of Jack's most transformative projects started out as a barren seven-acre hilltop overlooking Silicon Valley. As project manager for this project, he managed construction of a beautiful 10,000 square foot high-tech home with extensive gardens and grounds. The landscape construction contract alone was over 4 million dollars!
Whatever the challenge, Jack is known for bringing an enthusiastic and proactive approach to every project.
