BauerCombs & Associates, Inc., founded in 1991, is an established landscape architecture firm providing sustainable and inspiring outdoor environments in New Mexico, California and Washington. Our studio is located in the beautiful City of Santa Fe, New Mexico ‘the land of enchantment’. Projects range from small to extra large serving corporate, private, government, and municipal clients.

Our Mission is to create outstanding designs that delight our clients and surpass expectations. We hold a reputation for excellent value, timely completion and personal attention. Susan Combs-Bauer, founder and president of BauerCombs & Associates, Inc., is a Registered Landscape Architect licensed in New Mexico, California and Washington, and is a Rainwater Collection Systems Accredited Design Professional. Prior to initiating the firm in 1991, Susan worked for several landscape architecture firms and governmental agencies accumulating over 25 years of professional experience in public projects, residential landscapes and master plans, community development, parks, and recreation trails. Susan is well known in her talents and has designed beautiful estate grounds for numerous Fortune 500 clients in the California Bay Area.

In addition to a career in landscape architecture, Susan is an accomplished violinist. This blend of science, design, and music inspires her artistic expression with attention to balance, soul, and function. Through years of experience, Susan has developed a keen sense for understanding how people interact with the surrounding environment and finds creating landscapes for all ages especially engaging such as, interactive spaces for children, therapeutic gardens for aging seniors, and inspiring landscapes for all.
