Sporting Clay Course
Client: Private Owner
Landscape Architect: Susan Combs-Bauer
Project Description:
A sporting clay professional claims this course to be the
best in the western United States. The course is a one-mile loop
trail with ten shooting stations. Each station is uniquely
designed and is strategically placed for optimal play. The
trail provides comfortable walking gradients between 0 - 8 percent. An extensive drainage system was designed with culverts, rock-lined ditches,
swales, drainage dips, etc. to keep the trail free of mud and debris during
the wet season. Other improvements include
a 40' log stringer bridge, picnic and viewing platform, and parking area.
Level of Services: Site
inventory and assessment, preliminary and final trail design ( location,
retaining walls, drainage), cost assessment, plans package (trail layout,
construction details, trail log, specifications, bid package), and project
implementation.
